1. Who we are and these Terms
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Platforms.vet, including the website, account areas, product listings, reviews, messaging tools, enquiry tools, and demo request functionality (together, the Platform).
The Platform is operated by Our IT Services Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 05210896, with its registered office at 7 College Farm, Tetbury Road, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 6PY, United Kingdom (we, us, our).
By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
2. The Platform and user types
Platforms.vet is a comparison and discovery platform focused on veterinary products, services, software, and related suppliers.
The Platform may be used by end users, such as veterinary professionals and buying teams, and by vendors, such as suppliers who create and manage product or company listings.
Vendors may submit and manage product information on the Platform free of charge unless we state otherwise in a separate written agreement.
Unless we expressly say otherwise, we do not sell the listed third-party products or services ourselves and we are not a party to any contract entered into between an end user and a vendor.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding agreement to use the Platform.
You may create an account using Google, Microsoft, or a manual email and password login.
You must provide accurate information, keep your account details up to date, and keep your login credentials confidential.
You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless you notify us promptly of unauthorised access.
We may suspend or disable an account where we reasonably believe there has been a breach of these Terms, a security issue, unlawful activity, impersonation, fake reviewing, or misuse of the Platform.
4. Acceptable use
You must use the Platform lawfully, honestly, and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or damage the Platform.
4.1 You must not
- post false, misleading, defamatory, harassing, hateful, obscene, or unlawful content;
- submit fake reviews, undisclosed incentivised reviews, or reviews on behalf of another person without authority;
- impersonate any person or organisation, or misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or experience;
- upload malware, introduce harmful code, probe or test vulnerabilities, scrape the Platform without permission, or interfere with security or performance;
- use the Platform to send spam, unsolicited promotions, or unlawful marketing;
- harvest personal data from the Platform except where clearly permitted through the Platform's intended functionality;
- infringe intellectual property, confidentiality, privacy, or other rights.
5. Reviews and end user content
If you submit a review, comment, profile, enquiry, or other content to the Platform (User Content), you remain the owner of your content.
When you post User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting, publish, display, distribute, and otherwise use that User Content for the operation, improvement, moderation, security, and promotion of the Platform.
You confirm that any review or rating you submit is honest, accurate to the best of your knowledge, based on genuine experience, and does not contain information you are not entitled to share.
We may moderate, reject, unpublish, edit for formatting only, or remove User Content where we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms, applicable law, or our moderation standards. We are not obliged to publish any content.
We may contact you to verify a review or ask for supporting information. If you do not provide reasonable verification when requested, we may decline to publish or may remove the content.
You must not include confidential information, special category personal data, private clinical records, or any information about identifiable clients, patients, or staff unless you have a lawful basis and authority to do so.
6. Vendor listings and vendor content
Vendors may create, claim, update, and maintain company, product, integration, pricing, feature, media, and related listing information on the Platform.
Vendors remain responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of the information they submit.
By uploading or publishing vendor content, a vendor confirms it has the right to share that material and grants us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting, publish, display, distribute, and otherwise use that material for the operation, improvement, moderation, security, and promotion of the Platform.
We may review, moderate, edit for formatting only, reject, unpublish, or remove vendor content where we reasonably believe it is inaccurate, misleading, unlawful, infringes another person's rights, creates legal risk, or breaches these Terms.
Where a vendor chooses to publish information on the Platform, that information is intended to be visible to users of the Platform and may also be indexed by search engines or other third-party services that access public webpages.
7. Demo requests, enquiries, and sharing
If an end user asks to contact a vendor, request a demo, or otherwise be introduced to a supplier, the end user authorises us to share the information submitted for that purpose with the specific vendor or vendors selected or necessary to fulfil the request.
We do not share personal data with unrelated third parties for their own marketing without express consent.
Where a vendor publishes content on the Platform, we only display the information the vendor has chosen to submit for publication, subject to our moderation and formatting processes. Further detail is set out in our Privacy Policy.
8. Third-party products and content
Product pages, vendor descriptions, pricing statements, integrations, screenshots, and other listing information may be supplied by vendors, users, or other third parties. While we may review or moderate content, we do not guarantee that all listing content is complete, accurate, current, or suitable for any particular need.
Any decision to engage a vendor is your responsibility. You should carry out your own assessment before purchasing, implementing, or relying on any product or service.
9. Intellectual property
All intellectual property rights in the Platform, including its design, branding, databases, text, software, graphics, and compilation of content, are owned by us or our licensors, except for User Content, vendor content, and other third-party materials.
You may use the Platform for your own lawful internal business or personal evaluation purposes. You must not copy, republish, sell, reverse engineer, extract substantial parts of the Platform, or create derivative works from it except where the law allows or we have given written permission.
10. Availability and changes
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Platform at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or that the Platform will always be secure or free from bugs, although we take reasonable steps to maintain it.
11. No professional or procurement advice
The Platform is intended to help users discover and compare products and services. Content on the Platform is for general information only and does not constitute legal, regulatory, cyber security, veterinary, procurement, financial, or other professional advice.
You remain responsible for assessing whether a product, supplier, or workflow is suitable for your organisation, jurisdiction, and compliance requirements.
12. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties, representations, conditions, and other terms that may apply to the Platform.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of revenue, loss of business, loss of opportunity, loss of goodwill, loss of anticipated savings, corruption or loss of data, or business interruption arising from or connected with your use of, or inability to use, the Platform.
Our total aggregate liability to you arising out of or in connection with the Platform or these Terms will not exceed GBP 100, unless a higher minimum applies under mandatory law.
If you are using the Platform as a consumer in a jurisdiction that gives you mandatory rights which cannot be excluded, these Terms do not restrict those rights.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and keep us indemnified against reasonable losses, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful use of the Platform, or content you submit that infringes another person's rights, except to the extent caused by our own negligence or breach.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Platform at any time and may request account deletion subject to our Privacy Policy and any legal retention requirements.
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access immediately if we reasonably consider that you have breached these Terms, created legal or security risk, or misused the Platform.
Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should continue after termination will continue, including provisions relating to intellectual property, liability, disputes, and our rights to retain necessary records.
15. Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal data. Where cookies or similar technologies are used, they are also governed by our cookie practices as described in the Privacy Policy and any cookie choices made available on the Platform.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on the Platform with a revised Last updated date. Continued use of the Platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident elsewhere and mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your home courts, you may do so.
